'Legacies,' A New 'Vampire Diaries' And 'Originals' Spin-off Is Coming To The CW
Philadelphia (CW Philly) — If you miss The Vampire Diaries and are already mourning the loss of The Originals, we have good news. The CW has picked up, Legacies, a "Hope-centric" spin-off. Check out the official synopsis below!
Continuing the tradition of The Vampire Diaries and The Originals, the story of the next generation of supernatural beings at The Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted. Klaus Mikaelson's daughter, 17-year-old Hope Mikaelson; Alaric Saltzman's twins, Lizzie and Josie Saltzman; and other young adults come of age in the most unconventional way possible, nurtured to be their best selves…in spite of their worst impulses. Will these young witches, vampires and werewolves become the heroes they want to be — or the villains they were born to be?
The Originals showrunner Julie Plec is an executive producer of the spin-off, along with Brett Matthews, Gina Girolamo, and Leslie Morgenstein. Danielle Rose Russell will star as Hope, and she'll be joined by Vampire Diaries star Matt Davis, Aria Shahghasemi of The Originals, and new characters played by Quincy Fouse, Jenny Boyd and Kaylee Bryant.
In addition to Legacies, The CW has announced reboots of 90s classics, Roswell and Charmed. Stay tuned for premiere dates for the new spin-off and the two reboots.
