Learn CPR In 60 Seconds
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - I don't know how long ago you took CPR – one of those CPR instruction classes that goes on for several hours? But a study in a leading cardiology journal finds that may not be all that necessary.
This study suggests that you can learn CPR by watching a video and perhaps the shorter the instructional video the better.
Over 300 adults were divided into four groups: those who viewed a 60 second CPR video, those who viewed a 5 min CPR video and those who viewed an 8 minute CPR video, while the rest did not view any video. The group watching the 60 second video performed the best.
It is not a complicated procedure and it makes sense that a simple approach can yield better attention and understanding.
