Latest PATCO Project Means More Single-Tracking Across Ben Franklin Bridge
By Dan Wing
LINDENWOLD, NJ (CBS) -- Starting today, PATCO will run on a new schedule as work gets underway on the tracks on the north side of the Ben Franklin Bridge.
Over the next two months, PATCO trains heading east and west will share a single set of tracks on the south side of the bridge.
PATCO has been running single-track service on Thursdays and Fridays since February, but the latest project will have fewer and shorter service gaps than the schedule on those days.
Officials say the schedule will be similar to the one that was in use from August to October of last year.
The new schedules are available (as of Saturday) at all stations.
The work is part of a 2-year, $103-million project to replace the entire PATCO system over the bridge.
