Late Diagnosis For Ovarian Cancer
By Dr. Brian McDonough, Medical Editor
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Ovarian cancer is a very frustrating cancer to treat because there are symptoms of this cancer but they are not easy to pinpoint – they are vague symptoms.
So, if you have stomach bloating, or pain in a leg, or you just don't feel right, those symptoms are hard to relate to any one thing. So unless there's an ovarian cancer history in the family or problems, we often don't think about it and it can be treated and detected very late.
This is the key problem.
Since ovarian cancer like most forms of cancer is best treated if caught early, losing time can be devastating.
