Last-Minute Power Problems Cleared Up At Montgomery County Polling Places
By Brad Segall
NORRISTOWN, Pa (CBS) -- Officials in Montgomery County say all systems are go for Election Day. There's power at all of the county's voting locations.
PECO took care of the last two problems on Monday restoring full power to the Huntingdon Valley Fire Company in Lower Moreland and repairing a blown transformer that affected power at Upper Moreland Middle School. County spokesman Frank Custer says barring any last-minute problems between now and when voting begins, they didn't have to move any polling spots.
"It was a little hairy," Custer says. "I mean I was always confident that PECO would be able to get the job done, but as you went into the weekend and we still had 16, 18, it fluctuated, still not up and running, I got a little nervous."
Meanwhile, in Bucks County, only one location is being moved. The polling place in Riegelsville is being moved from Borough Hall to the fire company on Delaware Road because of power problems and loose wires.
