Last Defendant Sentenced In Murder Of Bucks County Musician
DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (AP) — The last of five defendants in the slaying of a popular suburban Philadelphia musician has been sentenced to 52 to 104 years in prison.
Nineteen-year-old Kazair Gist of Trenton, N.J., will be eligible for parole at age 70 for his role in the slaying of Danny DeGennaro during a botched robbery at the guitarist's Levittown home.
Gist said at Monday's sentencing hearing in Bucks County Court that he had nothing to do with the December 2011 murder.
Two other men have previously received life sentences in the case. Two female getaway drivers became key witnesses for the prosecution and received lighter sentences.
DeGennaro was well-known in the local music scene and played guitar with national acts including Billy Squier and Bo Diddley.
