Lane Closures Scheduled On I-295 and Route 42 Friday Night
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Camden County officials have been notified by NJDOT that an overnight lane closure is scheduled to be implemented tonight on I-295 westbound and Route 42 southbound.
Drivers should expect delays from 9 p.m. Friday through about 5 a.m. Saturday.
The left lane on I-295 southbound from the Browning Road overpass to the Creek Road overpass, and the ramp from I-295 southbound to Route 42 southbound will be closed for restriping. One lane will be maintained on I-295 during the work.
Officials say the following detour will be posted:
- I-295 southbound motorists heading toward Route 42 southbound will be directed to Exit 26 onto I-76 westbound, and then be directed to use the Market Street exit and U-turn onto I-76 eastbound/Route 42 southbound.
Officials say the project has been divided into four separate construction contracts, with completion of the fourth and final contract in the fall of 2021.
The $900 million federally funded Direct Connection project will provide a seamless route for I-295 motorists traveling through the interchange, according to officials.
