La Salle Bounces Back From 2 Losses To Beat Hartford
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Tyrone Garland scored 13 of his 17 points in the second half as La Salle bounced back from two straight losses on Wednesday night to defeat Hartford 75-62.
Garland's basket with 6:40 to go gave La Salle (4-4) its largest lead of the game at 67-50 and the Explorers held a double-digit lead from there. Garland began the game on the bench even though entered the contest as La Salle's leading scorer.
La Salle led 33-26 at the end of the first half but was only 1 of 8 from 3-point range. In the second half the Explorers looked inside more for scoring opportunities and Steve Zack scored 8 of the Explorers' first 13 points of the second half.
Zack finished with 15 points and Tyreek Duren added 10.
Mark Nwakamma led Hartford (2-7) with 23 points and 10 rebounds, and Yolonzo Moore II added 11 points and five assists.
