PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Voices past and present of KYW Newsradio celebrated the station's 50th anniversary Wednesday night.
In 1965 KYW Newsradio began broadcasting throughout the Delaware Valley and ever since the station's been providing the people of this region with all news all the time.
During the 50th anniversary celebration, CBS Radio Philadelphia Senior Vice President David Yadgaroff took time to reflect on how this station has affected him throughout his life.
"The overall kind of memories I have of the radio station are as a kid sitting on my bed side with the clock radio waiting to hear the school closing number now fast forward decades later and on that same snow day I'm relying on us for traffic and weather and conditions and the life style stories that are so important on those days."
CBS Radio President and CEO Andre Fernandez says he's happy about milestone the station has achieved and his goal is to make sure it's around for another 50 years.
"We're thinking about the brand what we represent in the community how important we are to people and how we can continue to or need to evolve the brand and how is our audience evolving in their need for news, entertainment, sports and how can we continue to be relevant and serve them up that content."
