KYW Flashback: DA Who Didn't Press Charges Against Sandusky Goes Missing
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - It's been four years since KYW's Harrisburg Bureau reported that the Centre County prosecutor had been declared legally dead.
Ray Gricar, who had declined in 1998 to bring sex abuse charges against Penn State's Jerry Sandusky, went missing six years later.
His car and cell phone were found near the Susquehanna River. His laptop was later recovered from the river, minus its hard drive. When that was later found on the river bank, it was too damaged to be of use.
There was no sign of foul play or that the Sandusky case had any bearing on the disappearance.
Gricar's body has never been found, but occasional tips and rumors keep the mystery alive.
