UPDATE: Rite Aid Robber Arrested
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia have now arrested a suspect that threatened pharmacy workers with a knife numerous times when they confronted him for trying to steal merchandise.
The suspect, Orlando Aguayo, 42, has struck five times since October of last year. The latest robbery happened at about 10 a.m. Tuesday. Shortly thereafter, Aguayo was arrrested.
According to investigators, Aguayo targeted the Rite Aid stores located on Rising Sun Avenue and W. Wyoming Avenue. In Tuesday's incident, he struck the Rite Aid located at 5th Street and Olney Avenue.
Authorities said Aguayo entered the store and removed various items from the shelves then attempted to leave the store without paying.
Each time, a store employee attempted to stop him, at which time Aguayo produced a knife and threatened to stab the employee. He then ran out of the store.
Aguayo is now charged with all five of the robberies.
