Kimmel Center Presents In The Heights
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - "In the Heights", the winner of four Tony awards in 2008, comes to the Academy of Music; January 18th-23rd.
Matthew Wolf, vice president of programming at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts says it's about neighbors, family and love in three generations. The music and dance take theater to a new level.
"The younger age is all rap-based, very contemporary, driving rhythms, some of the most exciting dancing you've ever seen while the middle generation is much more lyrical, musical theater-type and the third generation is even a different musical voice."
He says the piece will speak to everyone because it's about themes we all know and live.
