Kelce: 'I'll Definitely Be In Tune To Colts-Cowboys'

By Andrew Porter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- This Sunday's biggest game, for Eagles fans, has nothing to do with the Eagles.

Assuming the Eagles take care of business on Saturday in Washington against the Redskins, the focus will immediately shift to Sunday's Colts-Cowboys game, even for the players themselves.

"If I'm not in front of the TV watching the game, I'm definitely keeping up with the updates on my phone as it goes down," Eagles center Jason Kelce told Angelo Cataldi and the 94WIP Morning Show of the Colts-Cowboys game. "I'll definitely be in tune to how that game is going."

Listen to Jason Kelce on the 94WIP Morning Show:

While the Eagles only have a 39.5% chance at making the playoffs, a win over the Redskins on Saturday and a Cowboys loss to the Colts on Sunday, will once again give the Eagles control of the NFC East.

Cataldi asked Kelce if he knew any Colts players he can call, to offer some extra motivation.

"You know what, I wasn't really thinking about doing that, but now that you mentioned it one of my good friends and former Philadelphia Eagle Colt Anderson is playing for the Colts," Kelce said. "So, maybe I'll give him a call. Maybe they can start off with the same special teams type stuff that we unfortunately started off with it."

The Eagles were 9-3 after their 33-10 Thanksgiving Day massacre of the Cowboys. Back then, just three weeks ago, the playoffs seemed like a certainty for the Birds. Now, after two straight losses including a 38-27 home loss to that same Dallas team, the Eagles are in danger of becoming just the third 11-5 team in Super Bowl era history to miss the postseason.

"Well, it's tough," Kelce said. "You know obviously, especially fresh off after a loss you realize you let go of a game that you fully could have won and you really needed to win. And looking back now, a lot of things are kind of out of our control. But more importantly than that, we just aren't playing great football right now and that's the key. And heading late into the season, this is when you want to be peaking and right now, we really did not play very well last Sunday."
