By Natasha Brown

DEPTFORD, N.J., (CBS) -- A retirement ceremony honoring two veterans of the police force.

K-9 Officer Rocco and Aron celebrating nearly a decade with the Deptford Police Department.

"Coming to work he's the best partner you could ever have. He's always there with you. Never have to worry about asking for help, he's there," said Deptford Police Officer Michael Divito.

These four-legged crime fighters have proven to be an integral part of policing the streets of Deptford.

"He's had suspects give up because they saw him coming," said Officer Divito.

(Reporter:) "He's pretty fierce?"

"Yes."

(Reporter:) "What's he going to do in retirement you think?"

"Live on the couch."

"It's nice to see them retire so they can spend some years actually just being a dog," said Deptford Police Chief Chief William Hanstein.

While these two veterans relax and enjoy retirement, two rookie K-9 officers are being welcomed. Meet Titan and Rebel both a German Shepherd mix, assigned to the Narcotics and Explosives Division. Titan has already nabbed a burglary suspect just weeks into the job. Man's best friend, a criminal's worst nightmare, an irreplaceable partner within the police department.

"I'm with him 24/7. Like my Lieutenant said, I'm with him more than I am with my family, so he's the only partner that never really gets to talk back," said Deptford Police Officer Adam Ziegler.

The new police dogs had to go through 30 weeks of training in order to become K9 members of the Deptford police force.
