K.J. McDaniels Gives Fan Concussion With Blocked Shot

By Andrew Porter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Rookie K.J. McDaniels is one of, two or three, reasons to watch the 2-18 Sixers.

During a November 9th game in Toronto against the Raptors, McDaniels recorded four blocks in a 32-point Sixers loss. One block, in particular, went viral because of the athleticism and velocity exhibited by McDaniels in blocking the shot of Raptors guard Greivis Vasquez.

The blocked shot hit a women so hard, it gave her a concussion, according to a SI.com piece. The piece also said McDaniels sent the fan flowers, upon realizing she was injured.

"I surprised myself," McDaniels said. "There was a lady who got hit by the ball who got a concussion, I believe."

McDaniels, at 6'6", is averaging 1.5 blocks per game and ranks 13th in the NBA in block percentage. If McDaniels keeps his pace of a block percentage of 5.0 throughout the season, he will have the best blocking season for a player of his height, ever.
