Juvenile Charged In Fatal Shooting Of Teen In Cobbs Creek
PHILADELPHIA (CBS/AP) -- Authorities say an arrest has been made in the murder of a 15-year-old boy in Cobbs Creek earlier this month.
Officials say Joshua Richardson, 16, was arrested on a warrant. He has been charged as an adult with fatally shooting a 15-year-old and wounding two other boys after an argument over a playground basketball game.
Detectives say Richardson came out of an alley and fatally shot Tyhir Barnes in the face on July 11.
Police called the shooting an ambush attack.
Officials say three shooting victims were found following the incident. Barnes suffered a gunshot wound to his face.
Police believe Richardson and the teens had argued about the result of another basketball game the week before and Richardson was angered by resulting trash talk.
A 16-year-old and a 14-year-old were also shot.
Richardson's public defender could not immediately be reached for comment Friday. Richardson faces a preliminary hearing Aug. 10.
