Juvenile Arrested For Burglarizing Gloucester Township Home
GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ (CBS) – A teenager has been arrested for a burglary in the Wye Oak development in Gloucester Township, NJ.
On July 6th, police received a report of a residential burglary that had occurred in the unit block of Aberdeen Drive between 8:30 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. on July 5th.
The suspect had entered the house by shattering the glass of a rear door and had taken laptops, several electronic gaming devices and other items from the residence.
A resident in a nearby Winslow Township supermarket noticed some juveniles acting suspiciously and called the Winslow Police Dept, who then notified Gloucester Township police.
Police followed up with an investigation, which revealed that the juvenile suspect was riding a bike inside the Wye Oak development and noticed a dark house with no cars parked in the driveway. He threw a rock through the window to gain entry, then stole items from the house.
The 17-year-old juveniles is charged with Burglary (3rd degree), Theft (3rd degree), and Criminal Mischief (4th degree) on a juvenile petition. He was released to his parent/guardian.
Police were able to recover the majority of the stolen property, which was found in a wooded area of Gloucester Township, and return it to the victim.
