Jurgen Klinsmann Out As USMNT Head Coach
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- U.S. Soccer Men's National Team Head Coach Jurgen Klinsmann has been fired, the organization announced.
U.S. soccer president Sunil Gulati will conduct a media teleconference call Tuesday afternoon to explain the decision.
"We want to thank Jurgen for his hard work and commitment during these last five years," Gulati said in a statement. "He took pride in having the responsibility of steering the program, and there were considerable achievements along the way."
Klinsmann, who took over in July of 2011, was 55-27-16.
