Judge Issues Bench Warrant For Former City Employee In DUI Case

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A Philadelphia judge issued a bench warrant for a former city employee who failed to show up for sentencing in an unusual DUI case.
Prosecutor Elizabeth Kotchian says defendant Robin Jones had admitted crashing a city-owned car while under the influence of drugs and alcohol. Thursday was supposed to be Jones' sentencing day.
Kotchian says Jones also skipped an earlier mandatory drug and alcohol evaluation, and all of this could play into the ultimate sentencing recommendation.
Jones crashed the car early one morning in September. She called a fellow city employee, former City Council Sergeant-At-Arms Rodney Williams, who has since been convicted of driving to the scene drunk, also in a city-owned car.
Kotchian says the evidence against Williams included his own words. When police asked if he'd been drinking, he responded "It's Friday."
