Judge: 3 To Be Tried In Philadelphia 'Basement Of Horror' Case

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Three defendants have been ordered held for trial in the Tacony Basement of Horrors case, but one of those originally accused no longer faces charges.
Calling the graphic testimony and photos showing burns and other brutality something out of a real-life horror movie, Judge Patrick Dugan ruled there is enough evidence for Linda Weston, her daughter, Jean McIntosh, and Gregory Thomas to stand trial.

But all charges were dropped against Eddie Wright. Defense attorney Lou D'Onofrio says Wright is a victim in the case. "He himself was held by Linda Weston and taken advantage of, and that there just wasn't enough evidence to hold him as being one of her conspirators."
The court heard from 20-year-old Beatrice Weston, who testified she was abused, forced into prostitution by her aunt Linda and repeatedly was padlocked in a closet where tiny slivers of light were the only sign of daytime.
