Biden is promising to choose a woman to run for vice president.

California Sen. Kamala Harris is widely perceived as a front-runner although, during last year's presidential debate, she and Biden had a tense exchange about race, school busing, and segregation, CBS San Francisco reports.

CBS News reports the list of Biden's potential running mates includes:

  • Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar
  • California Sen. Kamala Harris
  • Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren
  • Nevada Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto
  • Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer
  • New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham
  • Former Georgia State Rep. Stacey Abrams
  • Wisconsin Sen. Tammy Baldwin
  • Illinois Sen. Tammy Duckworth
  • Florida Congresswoman Val Demings
  • Former National Security Adviser Susan Rice
  • Former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates
  • Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms

He's also facing pressure from the democratic party to pick a woman of color.
