Jill Biden, Wife of VP, Campaigns Across Pennsylvania
By Cherri Gregg
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- As Vice President Biden prepares for his debate this Thursday against Republican foe Paul Ryan, the Second Lady of the US is on the campaign trail, making several stops in Pennsylvania.
Dr. Jill Biden is making seven stops across the Keystone State. She began in Harrisburg on Monday and will end in South Philadelphia on this afternoon.
The purpose of the visit is to encourage Democratic supporters and to rally eligible Pennsylvanians to get their voter registration forms in before midnight tonight, which is the deadline to register for the November election (see related story).
Dr. Biden is expected to give remarks on the major differences between the Democratic and GOP candidates, and on what many call a "voting rights success" in blocking Pennsylvania's voter ID law for this November.
Her husband, VP Joe Biden, is scheduled to go toe-to-toe on Thursday evening with Republic opponent Paul Ryan in the vice-presidental debate in Kentucky.
