Jersey Shore Town Celebrates Mystery Weekend With City-Wide Sherlock Holmes Show

CAPE MAY, N.J. (CBS) - Next weekend, while many towns will be dressing up in green for St. Patrick's Day, in Cape May, they'll be doing something more "elementary."
It's a twice-a-year tradition in Victorian Cape May, a mystery weekend starring Sherlock Holmes. Eight performers present and up to 100 customers try to parse a puzzler apace with the world's greatest consulting detective.
"Something happens at the first meeting on Friday night that sets the wheels in motion. Then on Saturday, the group will take a house tour and then they all gather for the second act of the play. And then, on Sunday, they come together for the last time and we do the third act of the play with lunch," says Mary Stewart, the producer of Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Anima Orbis.
Each participant gets a clue sheet and tries to add things up, as well as Holmes. No one ever quite has, says Stewart, but the one who comes closest gets a prize of $250.
The one furthest from the mark also gets recognized as the Clueless Wonder.
