Jersey Shore Looks To Boost Summer Rentals Over Easter Weekend
By David Madden
ATLANTIC CITY N.J. (CBS) -- If you're making summer vacation plans, this may be a good weekend to head down the shore to check out available rentals.
People might stroll the boardwalk on Easter weekend, but locals like Frank Shoemaker aren't so busy.
He handles rentals for Berger Realty in Ocean City, and he faces the added challenge of convincing potential customers that the town fared comparatively well in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
He gets doubters on the phone every day. So to counter that, he says he actually took some YouTube videos of the beaches and the boardwalk, and has been updating them every couple weeks.
But the best way to be sure is to check things out for yourself. Most realtors down the shore will have staff on hand this weekend, and Shoemaker says rents this year are comparable to those charged last summer.
