One of the happiest guys I ever met had quit his job as a big city meteorologist and headed for Vail, Colorado to work as a bartender at one of the nation's hottest ski resorts. He skied his buns off and made money at the same time.

For the young (and the young at heart) who want to dip a toe in those waters, the three ski resorts closest to Philadelphia are now hiring for the winter season. And the jobs come with free skiing and boarding.

Spring Mountain, in central Montgomery County, is now looking for lift operators, instructors, people to work in the rental shop and the parking lot, and on security.

Bear Creek Mountain Resort, in nearby Berks County, needs the same talents plus baristas, bartenders, food service people, and ticket sellers.

Blue Mountain, about 17 miles north of Allentown, is going a step further. Blue is hosting a job fair on November 1st and 2nd, from 2pm to 8pm.  By the way, in the interview it's best to talk about your love of the industry rather than how much time you want to spend on the snow. They'll figure that out themselves.
