CAPE MAY, N.J. (CBS) -- The Cape May seashore was spared much of the wrath of Hurricane Sandy (see related story), and visitors have been returning.
Cape May was a wonderful fall getaway until everyone was told, "There's a storm coming, get out of town."
But it's a resilient old burg and bounces back fast.
Now, shops are dressed in their holiday finery, selling unique, one-of-a-kind gifts in a Victorian setting.
There are still sunny days for an outdoor lunch at the Lobster House, and great evenings of jazz at the Merion Inn.

But for daytime relaxation, try free surf fishing on Sunset Beach at Cape May Point.
"Right now the bluefish, the weakfish, the flounder... everything is in here right now," said fisherman John McArdle as he reeled in a bluefish. And he kept reeling them in until he ran out of bait.
Back in town, from now till the New Year, there are Victorian Christmas tours and dazzling holiday lights trolley tours launching at the stately Physick Estate.
It's definitely time to be "On the Way to Cape May!"
