Jay Lloyd's Getaway: Celtic Festival in the Poconos
The upcoming weekend marks the beginning of another season of leisure. KYW's Jay Lloyd looks at a fun getaway in the nearby Pocono Mountains.

The skirling of bagpipes marks military funerals and Memorial Day services across the country. But there's another side to the venerable and unique Celtic instrument.

This weekend, Shawnee Mountain will be the backdrop for a Celtic festival filled with music, riveting step dancing, food, and drink.
Irish and Scottish crafts and sounds are set below the now-green ski trails and three performance stages will be fired up within sight of the base lodge.
One of my favorite Irish performers, Seamus Kennedy (right), will be weaving his magic of humor and Irish sea shanties.
Shawnee Mountain is an easy day trip, or make a weekend of it. There's plenty of lodging nearby, along with everything from golf and horseback riding to fishing and water sports, for a memorable Memorial Day weekend.
