Involuntary Manslaughter Plea, 2-5 Year Sentence, in Old City Streetcorner Attack
By Tony Hanson
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A Philadelphia man has pleaded guilty and was sentenced for his role in a vicious and fatal attack on a center city street last year.
Defendant Felix Carrillo, 24, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter Friday and has been sentenced to 2-5 years in prison as part of a plea deal.
Courtroom 1105 of the Criminal Justice Center was filled with tears, anguish, and heartbreak as family and friends of 23-year-old victim Kevin Kless addressed the court, trying to detail his life and their devastating loss.
Kendall Kless, mother of the victim, held a picture of her son as she said that no parent should bury a child -- especially a child who died like this.
"Kevin is my son," she said, "and I want him back."

Authorities say Carrillo and an accomplice, his cousin, took part in the initial assault on Kless following some sort of verbal confrontation near 4th and Chestnut Streets last January, and a third defendant delivered the fatal blow (see related story).
The remaining two defendants are awaiting trial.
