PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The investigation into the murder of a Hilltown Township, Bucks County man is continuing.
Autopsy results of 48-year-old Joseph Canazaro were in Saturday afternoon but David Heckler the District Attorney of Bucks County says the cause of death is not being made public do to the ongoing investigation (see related story).
He says multiple law enforcement jurisdictions are assisting in the case including the ATF.
"Because we believe there were a number of firearms in the premises that are not there now and so we, of course, initially called them up and they were doing searches into purchases the decedent may have made."
Police say Canazaro was killed Friday morning inside his Swartley Road home in Hilltown Township. Police believe the suspects entered the home through a first-floor window after 6 a.m. Friday.
Canazaro and his girlfriend, along with their 12-year-old son were bound. The girlfriend and son escaped around 10 a.m. and called police. They were said to have suffered minor injuries. The victim's 15-year-old son was not home at the time.
The victim's family left the police station Friday night in shock. They want to know what prompted the invasion and they want the two suspects caught as soon as possible.
Authorities say the suspects made their getaway in a Lincoln pickup truck which was recovered in Quakertown.
District Attorney David Heckler says video surveillance cameras from a number of businesses in the plaza are being analyzed to see if they can get images of the suspects. The truck was found behind the plaza by a dumpster.
Canazaro was the owner of Finn McCool's tavern in Ambler. The tavern had been shut down since last March when a wall collapsed. The tavern had started rehiring staff and was about to reopen.
