Instagram's New App Turns Realtime Videos Into Time-Lapse Speedviews

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Instagram, the photo-sharing web site, is stepping up its mobile photography game with the release of a new standalone app.
Instagram has launched "Hyperlapse," an app that speeds up shaky videos and turns them into time-lapse sequences.
According to Instagram, "Hyperlapse features built-in stabilization technology that lets you create moving, handheld time lapses that result in a cinematic look, quality, and feel."
Users can tap to record and tap again to stop. They can select the playback speed, making sequences play back up to 12 times faster. Videos are then saved to the camera roll and can be shared to Instagram or Facebook from there.
Hyperlapse is now available for a free download from the Apple app store.
