PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Independence National Historical Park unveiled its latest earn and learn trading card. The program is designed to help kids connect with the faces, places and stories represented in the park.
Kids answered questions that park ranger Renee Albertoli asked to earn the latest trading card of Independence National Historical Park, the new K-9 ranger "Ken" Franklin the 2½ year old explosives sniffing German Shepherd.
Albertoli helped develop the trading card program, where 41 cards can be collected.
Albertoli: "The kids have to earn the cards"
Reporter: "What do they have to do?"
Albertoli: "Oh they have to demonstrate that they have been paying attention. So at the end of a rangers program we can ask them questions, but they can also earn cards by displaying good museum manners."
While collecting cards kids can learn about the founding of the nation, the heroes of the Underground Railroad and the Civil War to civil rights struggle.
Families can get started by going to the Independence Visitor's Center at 6th and Market Streets.
