Increased Security Presence Expected For Broad Street Run

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Amtrak Police Department is stepping up patrols and conducting increased sweeps of stations and track right-of-way's.
Transportation Security Administration agents are also patrolling inside 30th Street Station in the aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombings.
Cities in the northeast, including in Philadelphia, remain on high alert.
An increased police presence was hard to miss around city landmarks Monday.
From the Art Museum to City Hall, various day shift officers were kept late into the evening hours.
Officers also stood watch over historic sites like the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall.
"There are no specific threats or threat incidents in Philadelphia, but of course we are taking the necessary precautions," said Mayor Michael Nutter.
City officials are also looking ahead at a major race coming up in Philadelphia on May 5th; the Broad Street Run.
Forty thousand people are expected for the nation's largest 10 mile race.
"Runners and spectators will in fact see a much more visible security presence on race day for the Broad Street run," said Mayor Nutter.
