Ike Reese: 'Agholor Is Going To Be A Fantastic Player'
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Eagles draft is officially in the books and the Sports Beyond Measure podcast crew recapped the Eagles selections and were joined by former Eagle and 94WIP's own Ike Reese.
Reese was spot on prior to the draft as he successfully predicted that the team would select Nelson Agholor and Eric Rowe. Reese explained that it wasn't rocket science determining who the Eagles would select.
"I got players at position that I thought the Eagles needed to fill and then you just sort of, by process of elimination, you know what Chip Kelly likes, what he's looking for and you try to find which one of those guys fit that." Reese was able to employ that logic to nail the first two picks.

Reese also explained what about Agholor made him such a fit for that first selection. "I've seen Nelson Agholor play. He's one of the guys I looked at when I looked at what the Eagles needed and he just fit," Reese explained.
"He's a versatile player and I know that's what Chip Kelly likes."
That versatility is something that Kelly has clearly put an emphasis on when it comes to evaluating players. That trait is something that Rowe possesses as well. Reese explained that versatility is what separated Agholor and Rowe from other prospects that he considered. Reese believes Rowe's ability to play safety and cornerback put him ahead of other defensive backs on the Eagles' board.
A lot will be expected of both Agholor and Rowe being the team's first two selections. Reese believes that Agholor will have an early chance to try to live up to those expectations.
"I would really be surprised if Agholor was not a starter from day one," Reese said. "He may start off on the second team or third team just to get things going, but by the time they get to the first game of the season, I'd be surprised if this kid is not starting at one of the wide receiver spots.
"Agholor is going to be a fantastic player."
Reese added that Kelly's offense will allow Agholor to shine and will utilize his ability to play on the inside and outside and confuse defenses when they try to match up with him.
While he sees good potential in the young wide receivers the Eagles now have, Reese knows their ultimate success hinges on one thing.
"It's going to boil down to the quarterbacks situation," Reese said. "If somebody can get them the football on a consistent basis, I like the young group of wide receivers."
