If Sunday's Game Is Reid's Last At The Linc, Will Fans Jeer Or Cheer?
By Paul Kurtz
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - If Eagles head coach Andy Reid is fired at the end of the season, then Sunday's game against the Redskins will mark his final appearance at home. Fans have a variety of ideas about how they might react.
The last two seasons have been tough on everyone. But most fans seem to remember that Andy Reid has a larger body of work that includes more wins than any Eagles head coach and a Super Bowl appearance.
"I would definitely cheer. He gave Philadelphia 14 great years. He just had a really bad year and I wish him well."
This fan agrees: "Yeah, he's the winningest coach. He did a good job, he got us as far as he could get us."
It's been a hot topic on our sister station, sports radio WIP this week. Midday host and former Eagle Ike Reese predicts the fans will be classy, unless the Eagles lose ugly.
"I don't know if they're going to be able to separate the emotion of the game and the way that it played it out with showing their appreciation for Coach Reid and all that he's done. If it's a close game or if the Eagles happen to win I think the fans will do what I expect them to do."
