I-Team Investigates: Criminal Past Of Suspect Killed In Northeast Philadelphia Shootout

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A violent shootout Tuesday morning ends authorities' ten month-long search for a Philadelphia man wanted for the murder of a pregnant woman.
Authorities say Devon Guisherd, 27, shot a Philadelphia Police SWAT officer while the officer was serving an arrest warrant for Guisherd.
Police say the 17-year veteran officer, who has not yet been identified was struck in the lower abdomen. He is expected to be okay thanks to his bullet-proof vest.
The shooting happened Tuesday morning at the Northbrook Apartments in the 800 block of Riverside Drive.
Guisherd, who was shot and killed when the SWAT officer returned fire, was wanted for the murder of 25-year-old Megan Doto.
Police say Doto was "an innocent bystander" when she was killed late last summer as she sat outside her home in Frankford. Doto was eight months pregnant; the baby also died.
Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey says Guisherd "has an extensive history."
According to court records, Guisherd was arrested in 2012 and charged with possession with intent to manufacture or deliver and other drug charges.
Those charges were pending and Guisherd was set to go to trial in September.
In 2006, Guisherd was arrested for more serious charges, including attempted murder, aggravated assault, making terroristic threats and gun-related charges.
On those charges, the case resulted in a mistrial in 2010.
A second trial in 2014, found Guisherd not guilty.
Approximately five months later, during the fall of 2014, police named Guisherd as a suspect in Doto's murder.
For ten months, Guisherd was considered a fugitive from justice and authorities were unable to find him until Tuesday morning.
