Man Puts Up "Please Hire My Wife" Billboard To Help Unemployed Spouse

TOLEDO, Oh. (CBS) - Forget about writing a resume. How about posting your qualifications on a billboard?

Brandon Stuard of Ohio dug into his creativity jar and is trying to help his unemployed wife get back to work with a billboard in downtown Toledo that reads, "Please Hire My Wife."

His wife Holly lost her job at the University of Toledo a year ago due to budget cuts and has been looking for work ever since, reports Toledo News Now.

"Over the last five or six months, she's had a few opportunities come along that we thought looked really positive and unfortunately they just didn't work out," Brandon told the station. "I felt a sense of, she was getting a little frustrated, but not losing hope. But I wanted to do something maybe help lift her spirits if nothing else."

The sign highlights some of Holly's qualifications including her MBA and her expertise in the business and education fields. The sign also lists a contact email: Hiremywife@yahoo.com.

Brandon told Toledo News Now that he didn't tell his wife about the $700 surprise at first.

"I think I definitely would have said no," Holly Stuard told the station. "I would have thought it would have been too embarrassing to have my face up on a billboard but, now I'm having fun with it and hopefully a good opportunity will come out of it."

Brandon says the billboard will be worth it if it secures his wife an opportunity.

"I know she's trying extremely hard, no one prepares like she does. So, it's difficult to watch so, this is, I feel like this is probably the best I could come up with to help her out," Brandon Stuard said.
