Husband Charged With Fatally Stabbing His Wife In Cinnaminson
CINNAMINSON, N.J. (CBS)--The Burlington County Prosecutor has announced that the husband of Laura Coggins, 81, has been charged with her murder. (See Related Story)
William Coggins, 83, has been charged with fatally stabbing his wife in their home.
Last week, Laura Coggins was found in their bathroom by William's brother.
William Coggins was later found with stab wounds to his torso and lacerations on his arms.
An investigation revealed that the wounds suffered by Williams Coggins were self inflicted and were the result of an apparent suicide attempt.
He was taken into police custody today.
An autopsy performed on Laura Coggins revealed the manner of her death to be homicide and the cause of her death was multiple stab and slash wounds.
William Coggins bail has been set at $500,000.
The court ordered a psychiatric evaluation as a condition of Coggins bail.
