Hundreds Of Area Fans Flock To Theaters To See New Star Wars Movie
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It's a force that keeps attracting crowds to theaters.
From last night, through early morning and beyond, Delaware Valley Star Wars fans are waiting in long lines to see the seventh installment of the storied film franchise.
"Hearing the old cast is back along with new characters, I've been so excited."
The Franklin Institute's IMAX theater is screening the film around the clock.
As some of the first viewers walked out, the verdict was clear, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, lives up to the hype.
Adam Ackerman says, "It was really good, it had a couple of twists at the end."
"I was happy, I was sad, I was really mad, all at the same time," says Jazzmaun Brown.
Steven Fernands adds, "It was wonderful, both for nostalgic people like myself who watched the original. It was really great. "
Fans who watch at the Franklin Institute are in for a unique experience.
The venue is only one of 20 worldwide to show the movie in IMAX, its purest format, perfect for life-long fans, no matter how short, like Derrick Difilippo, the cutest storm trooper, who was up well past his bedtime for the 4 a.m. show.
It looks like fans of the baddies stay up late. After all, sleeping in won't get you to a galaxy far, far away.
Ray Pabon, of Maryland says, "We ordered online way in advance to make sure we could get in."
Tickets here are a hot commodity. Friday shows are sold out, and it looks like your best bet is overnight on the weekend.
