Humidity On The Rise
By Geoff Bansen
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The sun returns today, but unfortunately will bring the humidity with it. A southerly flow is to blame as that muggy feeling slowly increases through tomorrow. It will still be a great day to get to the pool or beach! Highs will be in the mid 80s.
The clouds thicken tonight and stick around for Wednesday. There could be a few early breaks of sun early in the day, but clouds should dominate for the most part, all ahead of a cold front that approaches late tomorrow that will bring showers and some thunderstorms as well.
This front sweeps through Wednesday night and into Thursday morning, clearing out behind that to end the week in mainly dry fashion.
Shore -- Mostly sunny, warm, 80º, UV index 9
Mountains -- Clouds, some sun, scattered shower/thunderstorm, 78º
Phillies 1st Pitch -- Sun & clouds, warm & humid, 79º
Today In Weather History:
1926 -- A hail storm barreled through Burlington County in NJ. The hail was so bad, it caused a train to stop because of poor visibility.
1960 -- An F2 tornado hit Gwynedd Heights in Montgomery County, damaging homes and destroying barns.
