Howie Roseman Continues To Answer For Secondary's Shortcomings

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Eagles have one more game left in their season, but it is hard to not look toward to the off-season. That fact is even true for the Eagles brass including the general manager Howie Roseman.
Roseman joined Merrill Reese and Rob Ellis on The Howie Roseman Show on Monday to discuss the end of the Eagles season and how he and the team will move forward from here.
"I promise one thing," Roseman said as he addressed all Eagles fans on Monday night about turning things around. "We will do whatever it takes to do whatever it takes. That's our job. We are determined. No pun intended, we have a chip on our shoulder right now and we'll wear that everyday going forward."

While it may be comforting to hear Roseman say that the team will "do whatever it takes," the fan base still wants to know what exactly that entails and they have specific ideas for what it may mean.
Roseman was once again asked by fans about the state of the Eagles' secondary which undeniably made some costly mistakes throughout the season. One caller wanted to know why particular players were not pursued in last year's free agency and whether or not things might be different this year.
"The most important thing is that we still got to find guys that 1. fit our scheme," Roseman said as he explained why certain players do not get pursued by the team.
"Second, they also got to fit our culture that we're trying to build," Roseman explained. "We're trying to build it with certain kind of guys with high character, determined guys that fit our program because those are the things that last."
All eyes are going to be on Roseman this offseason. The amount of leniency that the fans have after a season like last year is much different that what it will be like this off-season. Last off-season the Eagles were coming off a year where they exceeded expectations and overcame shortcomings.
This off-season follows a year in which it felt like the Eagles had everything in their collective grasps and they allowed it to slip away.
