How To Deal With Your Firstborn Heading Off To College In A Healthy Way
by Lynne Adkins
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- College freshman all over are heading to campus, leaving family and friends goodbye.
When your firstborn heads off to college, that's stressful... you wonder if they'll do well, fit in, and make good choices...plus there's that empty space in the family.
Angela Cantwell, Clinical Director of Nursing for Behavioral Health for Einstein Healthcare Network suggests making this your time.
"You can do things to make the best of your stress obviously some stress is good in life it challenges you to strive for growth and some things that people could do to bust the stress would be exercising, finding hobbies that interest them, spending time with friends, especially talking to people who have experienced this before."
You need help if you can't sleep, eat, seem irritable or lose interest in your life.
