Hot Air Balloon Trapped In Tree In Gloucester Township
GLOUCESTER Twp., N.J., (CBS) – Police say a hot air balloon got struck in a tree in a Gloucester County neighborhood Thursday night.
Gloucester Township police officers responded at about 7:20 p.m. to Del Sordo Drive for a report of a hot air balloon attempting to make an unscheduled landing.
Officers found the hot air balloon stuck in a tree about 50 feet off the ground. An adult pilot and two juvenile passengers were inside the balloon's basket.
Police say the balloon's pilot was able to free the craft from the tree and safely land on Del Sordo Drive with the help of the fire department, police and the ground crew of the balloon company.
According to police, the pilot reported her landing was hampered by a thermo draft which resulted in the balloon being pushed into the tree.
No injuries were reported and there was no property damage.
