Hoops: Villanova Looks to Shock #1 Syracuse
By Matt Leon
VILLANOVA, Pa. (CBS) -- It's been a rough season for Jay Wright's Villanova Wildcats, now sitting at 8-8 on the season and just 1-3 in the Big East.
But they have a chance to make a big splash tonight as they host #1 and undefeated (17-0) Syracuse at the Wells Fargo Center.
This will be the first time that the Wildcats have faced a #1 team since February of 2006, when they beat top-ranked Connecticut, 69-64.
Villanova and Syracuse split their two meetings last season, each winning on the road. This will be their only matchup this season.
KYW's Matt Leon spoke with the radio voice of the Wildcats, Ryan Fannon, about the matchup and what Villanova needs to do to pull off an upset.
