Hoops: Drexel Looks to Stay Hot vs. Northeastern

By Matt Leon

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The winning streak sits at five games for the Drexel Dragons as they get ready to host Northeastern on Saturday.

The fifth straight win for Drexel came on Wednesday night when they won at Hofstra, 56-50, but head coach Bruiser Flint says his team didn't play very well in the victory.

"Yeah, we stole one, that's for sure," Flint says.  "We should've been arrested after that win on Wednesday.  But we were able to pull it out.  We made some plays down the end, we actually played some decent defense, but we didn't come with the greatest of focus."

Drexel now returns home to the DAC, where they are 7-0 this season, to host a Huskies team that is playing good basketball.

Overall, Northeastern is 9-8, but they have won four straight -- and Flint says that is no fluke:

"They've played well, and they've actually played really well on the road.  They've been the best road team in the league so far.  They're coming in with the same (CAA) record as ours, 5-2."

Flint says the Huskies' depth presents some real problems for opponents.

"They've got, like, ten guys that they play, and all those guys are the same.  And when you bring another guy in, they don't lose much."

Northeastern is led by junior guard Jonathan Lee, who averages just under 15 points per game.

Tipoff at the DAC is set for 4:00pm on Saturday.
