Homeless Man Arrested For Burglary In New Castle County
NEWARK, Del. (CBS) – Newark Police officers responded to a call concerning suspicious activity at a residence on Wednesday afternoon.
The suspect was apprehended in the backyard of the Nottingham Green home, where he had been knocking on the victim's door.
Police identified the suspect as Ricky Lee Chalifoux and determined him to be homeless. Upon searching Chalifoux, officers discovered a Taurus 9mm handgun, two loaded handgun magazines and burglary tools.
Chalifoux was charged with Possession of Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony, Attempted Theft and other related charges. Chalifoux was also wanted by the New Castle County Police for a previous burglary.
Since his arrest, the New Castle County Police have linked Chalifoux to two additional burglaries.
