Home Video Report: Wall Street, Mayberry, and Hayworth
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- While there are still a few days remaining in the old year, our next-to-last glance of video notices for 2010 is a reminder of a somewhat unusual development.
The release of that three-disk "Extended Collector's Edition" of Avatar has been a video winner, with 16 minutes added to the theatre release plus 45 minutes of previously deleted scenes.
Of course, James Cameron did issue a single-disk "advance" DVD of Avatar seven months prior to this, which collectors have since termed the "anemic" version of the film.
Other releases this week: "The 50th Anniversary of The Andy Griffith Show: The Best of Mayberry" -- a three-disk set with 15 "Best Of" shows.
Also, "The Films of Rita Hayworth," including five of the star's finest films, three of which make it to video for the first time.
And, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps (photo above), from director Oliver Stone and starring Michael Douglas, Josh Brolin, Frank Langella, and Susan Sarandon, along with comments from the director and stars.
