Home Video Report: Several Classics Get Anniversary Makeovers
Our home video overview this week is another major trip down memory lane.
The Bridge On The River Kwai (above) has its Blu-ray release, including interviews with William Holden and Alec Guinness from the old "Steve Allen Show," along with a 32-page booklet including a number of on-set photos.
We also have the 25th anniversary release of The Goonies, in both standard and Blu-ray, containing a number of deleted scenes and other extras.
And, if you really dig into the past there the 45th anniversary release of The Sound of Music, with extras in both the standard and Blu-ray releases. And both editions are remastered.
Also available: a massive "Frank Sinatra Concert Collection," with over 14 hours of TV and concert performances along with a 44-page booklet of rare photos.
There's also a "Bing Crosby Collection," showcasing six early Crosby movies highlighting some of Bingo's classic songs.
If you're into more recent releases, there's Toy Story 3 (standard and Blu-ray), and the impressive "sword and sandal" gore-fest, Centurion.
