Home Video Report: Ronald Reagan, Pat Tillman, And More
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - This week's home video offerings are topped by several nonfiction (or nonfiction-based) works.
Ronald Reagan: An American Journey is an impressive documentary marking the 100th anniversary of the birth of the late president, with much of the effort in Reagan's own words.
Josh Brolin narrates The Tillman Story, a documentary of the professional football player who died in a "friendly fire" incident in Afghanistan that was covered up by the Pentagon.
Hilary Swank stars in Conviction, the fact-based story of the working-class woman who puts herself through law school to be able to free her brother whom she believes was wrongfully sent to prison.
Meanwhile, there is less than a month until the Academy Awards, but only a handful of videos in the best picture category are out on DVD yet. They are The Kids Are All Right, Inception, The Social Network, Toy Story 3, and Winter's Bone. There may be more available for viewing before Oscar Night, Feb. 27th.
And, as a diversion, check out the half-dozen episodes of "The Abbott and Costello Show" from 1952 and '53.
