<em> Home Video Report: </em> Oscar Hosts' Vehicles On DVD
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - There are some interesting items on this week's home video list.
First, Christina Aguilera playing a small-town girl dreaming of success as a lounge performer, and Cher taking her under her wing, in the movie Burlesque.
Then there's Jake Gyllenhaal and 2011 Oscar co-host Anne Hathaway in a low comedy, Love and Other Drugs. Jill Clayburgh is also featured.
Oscar nominee (and 2011 co-host) James Franco stars in 127 Hours (above), the tale of a mountain climber trapped in an isolated canyon. Amber Tamblyn and Kate Burton are also featured.
Then there's the popular PBS mini-series "Pioneers of Television," highlighting TV's early years and such formative genres as westerns, science fiction, crime, and kids' shows, to name a few.
Blu-ray has re-released Walt Disney's Bambi, from 1942. You might need to play grief counselor when Bambi's mother meets the hunter in the woods.
