Home Video Report: Marilyn Monroe Anniversary Collection
By Bob Nelson
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The 50th anniversary of Marilyn Monroe's death this week brings some reissues of her best movies, and at bargain prices.
Monroe, you may recall, was only 36 when she died in 1962 and, for a time, her individual films were available at a hefty price.
Now, some are available as part as a seven-disk Blu-ray boxed set collection, packaged for less than $100.
There are some marvelous titles here, including How To Marry A Millionaire, River of No Return, and The Seven Year Itch.
In the 50 years since Marilyn died, there have been countless biographies, novels, and plays -- even her own ghostwritten autobiography, published posthumously.
One of the most recent biographies of this entertainment legend is by feminist historian Lois Banner: Marilyn: The Passion and the Paradox.
